14/02/09 The AGM was on 13th Feb 2009, Brian Lawson's continues as Chairman for another year, Shane Davey continues as Secretary. Ryan Furlong stepped down as Treasurer, and Alex Mortimer was too old to continue to be Under-18's Rep for another year. We would like to wish Nick Bellamy and Billy Vango all the best in their new roles as Treasurer and U-18's Representative respectively. As well as Lionel Ravat who is now our Vice-Chairman (or should that be vice-président)...

08/02/08 I'll be sifting through this site over the next week and filtering a lot of the heavily maintained pages (i.e. Rankings, Campaigns, BloodBowl Teams, etc.). This will allow me to create a better 'stand alone' site and have less games pages with missing things. If anyone wants to upload anything, just e-mail it to me and I'll put it on as usual. Leagues, etc will now be files linked, so I can just upload the file and not have to adjust the webpages each week...

16/02/08 As you should know the AGM was on15thd Feb 2007, Nick Bellamy's Position continues as Vice-Chairman, Shane Davey continues as Secretary, Alex Mortimer was reinstated as Under-18's Representative, and (I must have done something wrong in a previous life!) Ryan Furlong is still treasurer. Alan Hayes stepped down as Chairman, and so we'd like to thank him for his efforts during the past year, organising things like Salute and going to see '300'.. Brian Lawson has returned as Chairman, possibly in a cunning plot to take over the world...

09/02/08 The 2007/2008 Rankings season has finished. All the winners will be awarded at the AGM next week (15/02/08). A big thanks to everyone who supported the system. There's certificates and medals for all the table and trophies for a couple of games. We'll have a non-rankings week next week, then I'll refine the tables again ready for the 2008/2009 season, so get practicing and here come the SADWC champions 2008/2009...!!

06/01/08 You're running out of time if you want to win those rankings medals - get playing all the games you can between now and the AGM! If your game hasn't turned colourful yet, or you're not 'green', you won't get any prizes for winning... Speaking of prizes; I hope Lionel and Simon haven't broke their trophies!!...

01/12/07 We very kindly received a thank you letter for the Village Hall Management Committee, with regards to the donation we made towards the refurbishments that are currently happening. When they are complete the Village hall will have an extra room, and more storage space in it, (so we can play more games - Yey!)... Click here to read the letter...

01/12/07 Finally updated the rankings a stuff, I intend to give the site a massive overhaul when I'm off over Christmas. Speaking of which,; THE BOWLING! There's no club on Friday 14th December - 'cos we're all too busy drinking! The club will be open on the Saturday (15th) evening instead - Anyone for Risk ?!

18/11/07 Right, sorry about the club being closed on Friday 16th - but we couldn't do much about it (double booked), it'll be back to normal next week though. Also we are still waiting for lots of people to confirm whether or not they are coming to the bowling, please speak to a committee member down the club for more information, looks like it'll cost you £5 for bowling or laser quest, inc. food - you might have to buy you own beer though...!

04/08/07 Heavily updated the site today, you need to check the main pages for details of the updates. For those that don't know (or can't be bothered to check the forum) The weekend dates are: 11th August (Sat), 16th September (Sun), and 6th October (All-day Sat (no club Friday 5th)). Cheers m'dears, i'll be posting lots on the forum so as to keep the world updated.

12/07/07 Right I'm back. I'll give the site a damn good over-haul during this weekend and next, but it'll probably take me a few weeks more to really get back on top of the website and add all the things that have happened/are going to happen. Cheers m'dears Ryan. p.s. It was a healthy baby boy - Ashley!

02/06/07 Ok, it's not really news that affects the club, but it will affect this website: Two things are happening in my life at the moment - 1.) We're expecting our first child very soon, and 2.) we're moving house in a weeks time. Therefore - This site will be dormant for a couple of weeks, no updates of rankings, BB tables etc. a) because I'll be too busy with the baby, and b) It'll probably take BT two weeks to reconnect my phone and broadband. Thanks for your co-operation... Ryan

31/03/07 Fancy a trip to the cinema? We're going on mass to see '300' in Bury St. Edmunds on Tuesday 3rd April 2007. If you're a member, it won't cost you anything for the ticket. You'll have to buy your own food though. Please visit the new forum if you would like more details...

17/03/07 Following a committee meeting, it has been decided that the old Yahoo forum will be closed, and replaced by a more user friendly php Forum. The new forum enables you to talk about individual games under different headings, instead of just having one big long list of messages like we did with the yahoo one. All old files that were available on the old forum will be re-published as links from this website. For more information, just to have a look, and to sign-up go to http://sadwc.myfreeforum.org...

24/02/07 As you should know the AGM was on 23rd Feb 2007, Nick Bellamy's Position is now Vice-Chairman, Shane Davey continues as Secretary, Alex Mortimer was reinstated as Under-18's Representative, and (for my sins) Ryan Furlong is still treasurer. Those that attended will know that Brian Lawson stepped down as Chairman of the club. I'm sure everyone will agree when I thank Brian for the fantastic work he has done over the years - to name but a few; organising club events like Salute, Warfare, Bowling; coming up with great ideas like the BBQ; arranging new scenery; waiting for me in Halstead twice after I forgot a few things, liaising with Newton Green Village Hall committee, losing at Risk, banning Magic the Gathering until after 10pm, and most importantly keeping the club going, without Brian the club would not be what it is today. We wish him all the best, now that he has the time to actually play games, he might win a few without 'bending the rules' too much...!! This said, I would also like to wish Alan Hayes all the best in his role as the new club Chairman...

17/02/07 The 2006/2007 Rankings season has finished. All the winners will be awarded at the AGM next week (23/02/07). A big thanks to everyone who supported the system. There's certificates and medals for all the table and trophies for a couple of games. We'll have a non-rankings week next week, then I'll refine the tables ready for the 2007/2008 season, so get practicing and here come the SADWC champions 2007/2008...!!

08/02/07 Due to the projected absences of three committee members, the Sudbury and District Wargames Club Annual General Meeting  (or AGM), normally held on the second Friday in February, has been postponed until the last Friday in February - 23/02/07. If you have any major issues/items you would like to bring up, then please forward them to any committee member, thanks.

19/01/07 Next week there is no club at the village hall, it is our *ahem* Christmas Do! Check the forum regularly for more details, and you need to speak to one of the committee if you would like to attend. Laser-Quest scores and Bowling speed records are sure to be broken... and the highlight of everyone's year - THE DANCE-OFF!!

06/01/07 Registration closing date for the 40k Doubles Tournament is now 19th January. As soon as we've got all the army lists in we can go over the rules and begin the tournament...

24/11/06 Get your teams registered by the 2nd December for the Warhammer 40,000 doubles tournament. You can check out the teams already registered on the tournaments page, which will eventually contain all the the results and additional details. It will start off with a round-robin style tournament then the top teams will play each other in knock-out stylee...

11/11/06 It's Warfare, down in Reading, next weekend (18th - 19th November). A select bunch of us are going to have a look around, (and probably buy copious amounts of models - if we haven't already ordered them...). If you fancy going, just lets us know down the club, and I'm sure we can arrange some form of lift sharing. Warfare is a very good show, with lots of traders, and a bit less manic than Salute.

22/09/06 We now have a ranking system in play for most of the games we do (I can always add more if you ask nicely). The idea is that it will rate players on how good they are over the whole year, against everyone else who plays the game. The top spots for each game will get a certificate and maybe a trophy (depending on support) at each AGM... Here come the SADWC Champions...!!

15/09/06 The Sudbury and District Blood Bowl League 2006/2007 has kicked off, keep an eye on your favourite teams via the blood bowl pages. Remember the league is going to last for 9 months, so please don't think you have to cram in a load of BB matches every week. Take your time and play some other games if you like. I for one won't be playing every night, more like once every two or three weeks at most.

02/09/06 I'm going to introduce a ranking system for most of the games we play regularly down the club, like 40k and Warmaster, etc... The idea is it will rate you depending on how well you play against different players, with the winner of each tournament being declared one of the SADWC Champions for each year, keep your eyes peeled...!!

27/08/06 It's less than a week away, but I'd thought I'd remind you anyway; The Budget Bowl One-Dayer is happening down the club on Saturday 2nd September. It's our first 'Open to all' Tournament. It's called the budget bowl for a reason - it's only £3 to enter! Results from this tournament are NAF ranked. Please can we ask all competitors to bring your own boards, thanks. Doors open at 9:00am (ish).

19/08/06 We have a proper site http://www.sadwc.co.nr . Tell all your friends!! If you've link anything to the old site, then you may want to replace "http://homepages.tesco.net/r.furlong" with "http://www.sadwc.co.nr". All links i.e. 'http://homepages.tesco.net/r.furlong/bloodbowl', now work as 'http://www.sadwc.co.nr/bloodbowl'. But don't worry if you can't update it, all the old links still work too...!!

18/08/06 Ok, the Blood Bowl League is back, you'll need to check out the Blood Bowl pages for more information, and to sign-up. Yes, it is Living Rulebook 5, with free fan factor, tournaments throughout, and actual prizes (shock, horror!!). If all goes to plan it will last a whole 9 months...

02/08/06 Please don't cry, but the Blood Bowl league is over. Congratulations to Paul Owen for completely owning everyone else with his bloody undead (apparently he's going to throw them into the bin - 'cos he's bored with winning...), I'll get a prize together soon. The next one will start soon, and I've learnt a lot about running a league and will implement it all this time round. It seems people lost interest, and what with the LRB 5.0 coming into effect; now is and ideal time to start afresh. Most likely, I'll set a definitive time scale, and ban people from entering halfway through the season... keep your eyes and ears open...

02/08/06 This site is for everybody, and although I play (or have played) many of the games listed, I'm a little sketchy on what they are about. Please, please help me keep this site working by sending me (or telling me) things about the games listed in the games directory, especially if I've got something wrong. That goes for the rest of the site, like if you know any good links, or want some pictures put on, just let me know, thanks.. r.furlong@tesco.net
